In Paris, creativity is a way of life, reinvented every day. The city is the capital of style and fashion in every form – timeless, fleeting or current.

Paris sets the trends that will be seen on the world's streets tomorrow. This guide compiles the best of the thousands of shops in Paris, all carefully selected by fashion experts. Through a series of itineraries and districts in Paris, you will enjoy exploring the diversity of shopping in Paris, in styles spanning luxury, ethical, vintage or cosmopolitan.

Fashion and shopping highlights feature on the Paris calendar all year round: the ready-to-wear and haute couture catwalk shows, fashion and home trade shows, the winter and summer sales etc., much to the delight of visitors and Parisians alike. Encouraging the development of business and local activity in Paris and working to make Paris more attractive, for businesses as well as clients and tourists, are the main priorities of the CCIP-Paris.


That is why this year, once again, the Paris Delegation of the Paris Chamber of Paris and Industry, in association with the Paris City Council, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Atout France, is taking part for the fourth consecutive year in the operation “Soldes by Paris” in order to boost economic activity and tourism during the period of the winter sales.

The challenge is to position Paris as the European, even international “Shopping Capital, notably through a huge communication plan and actions carried out in districts of the capital.

The success of this operation also relies on the strong commitment of Parisian businesses, local shopping stores as well as national brands. With the extension of the festive illuminations in their streets the essential role of storekeepers in the capital and their local unions is again to make Parisian streets more lively and convivial. Without them, without the considerable effort to carry out such projects, Parisian commercial activity would not be what it is.

But as ever, and the 2010 edition of Soldes by Paris is once again the proof, teamwork is essential! Let all the partners, public and private, who make their contribution to the event, be warmly thanked and encouraged to extend their collaboration.
