After Inès de la Fressange in 2008 and Lou Doillon in 2009, fashion designer Jean-Claude Jitrois is the 2010 “Paris, shopping and fashion capital” ambassador.

This designer beloved of celebrities needs no introduction! He has outfitted stars such as Sharon Stone, Nicole Kidman, Johnny Hallyday, Mary J Blige, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé and worked with some of the greatest photographers including Helmut Newton, Jean-Baptiste Mondino and Karl Lagerfeld.
Whilst he is a collector of innovative concepts in fashion, leather is his favourite choice of fabric for putting them into practice. His clothes use stretch leather, smocked leather, leather given a sheen using essential oils, seamless leather… he reinvents the material each season to create glamorous and seductive clothing lines. Having invented stone-washed “skin jeans” in 1998, he went one step further in 2009 with machine washable stretch leather jeans that can be ironed on low settings!
Jean-Claude Jitrois has chosen to live in Paris and draws inspiration from everyday life in the fashion capital. He has drawn up an itinerary comprising his top picks and favourite places to go in Paris for shoppyingbyparis.
